Precision Sound, Absolute Certainty
Ultrasonic Testing (UT) is the bedrock of industrial inspection. Our suite of ultrasonic instruments provides non-destructive, single-sided access to the internal health of your assets. From high-speed thickness gauging on corroded piping to advanced flaw detection in critical welds, our hardware is designed to deliver ASME code compliant accuracy in the harshest field environments.
Our ultrasonic line is split into two specialized categories: digital thickness gauges and high-resolution flaw detectors. Both are engineered with high-contrast displays for sunlight readability and ruggedized housings that withstand the grease, grit, and moisture of industrial jobsites.
Our thickness gauges utilize dual-element transducers to “see” internal pitting and size it accurately, while our flaw detectors offer advanced the data processing and high signal-to-noise ratios required to identify cracks, inclusions, and lack of fusion in structural welds. Whether you are performing a simple spot-check or a comprehensive ASME or API-standard inspection, our ultrasonic instruments provide the stability and repeatability your integrity program demands.
Our high-frequency transducers can measure down to 0.020” (0.5mm) in steel. For extremely thin materials or specialized plastics, we can provide precision gauges with higher resolution to ensure compliance with tight tolerances.
Yes. While a thickness gauge confirms wall loss, our Ultrasonic Flaw Detectors are specifically designed to identify mid-wall laminations and HIC, providing the waveform analysis needed to differentiate between inclusions and active cracking.
While our instruments are designed with intuitive interfaces for basic thickness checks, interpreting flaw detector A-scans for code-compliant weld inspections typically requires ASNT or CGSB Level II certification to ensure data integrity.
Heavy pitting or scale can scatter the sound beam. Our instruments feature adjustable gain and “gate” controls to help technicians pull a stable signal from rough surfaces, though some basic sanding or grinding may be required for high-precision flaw characterization.
We offer specific models with Intrinsically Safe (IS) ratings for use in refineries and chemical plants. If your inspection area requires “hot work” permits, please specify this so we can provide the appropriately rated hardware.
