1972

Russell NDE Systems Inc. is incorporated.

Mid-1980s

Established a dedicated R&D group to develop Remote Field Technology (RFT).

1988

Released the Ferroscope Model 108, our first commercial RFT equipment sale.

1988–1990

Successfully miniaturized Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) instrumentation for 4-inch pipelines.

1990

Adapted RFT for oil and gas well casing in rigorous downhole environments.

1992

Launched the Ferroscope 204 system and formed a strategic research alliance with Queen’s University.

1994

Developed the Hydroscope for waterline evaluation, validated by the Cities of Edmonton (Aqualta), Calgary and EPCOR.

2000

Released the Ferroscope Model 308.

2009

Incorporated PICA to manage growing demand for water and wastewater main inspections.

2012

Awarded “Best in Class” by Frost & Sullivan for the Ferroscope 308.

2023

Launched the Ferroscope EMI: multi-frequency, multi-application EM instrument
